I’m Hester, the editor of Wilds, and I am a very outdoorsy person. If it was up to me I would be outside from 7 till 7. Have my breakfast in the garden, do all my work in the outdoor breeze and have my dinner as a picnic somewhere. My toddler is pretty much the same and after the turbulent year we have had I think a lot of people have realised the outdoor world is very important for their wellbeing. When all of us were housebound, all of a sudden the importance of just going outside to feel the wind on your face became apparent. The dream would be to have a small homestead somewhere or maybe travel the world exploring nature in our van but those two options are not very realistic for most people. That’s why I wanted to start Wilds, to show you don’t need to be a farmer or van lifer to enjoy an outdoorsy life. With Wilds I hope to inspire you to go out, to explore, to learn and to gather materials for craft projects. This can be in your own back garden, your local park, a forest nearby or something further a field.
Go explore, be WILDS
